You make the gift. We make the match.

What is Match Magic?

Match Magic is an exciting giving initiative powered by Cobb Community Foundation, designed to amplify your donations and create a greater impact. This year, a $100,000 match pool is available to help participating organizations capture more funding for their critical work in the community. This is a proportional match, so the more donations an organization receives, the larger portion of the match they can earn.

How It Works

1. Choose Your Cause: Explore the list of participating nonprofits below, categorized by their service area.
2. Donate During the Giving Period: Your contribution between November 19 and December 3 will help your organization earn their share of the total available match pool.
3. Activate Good! Every dollar you give will go further, thanks to the $100,000 match pool, enabling these nonprofits to make an even bigger impact.

Below are the nonprofits selected and their requests. Click "DONATE" to give or to learn more about the organization selected. Contribute to multiple organizations with a single donation by selecting the brown "Match Magic" bar on the left side of the page. Not sure who to support?  Contribute to the Match Pool and support all of them!  Together, we can help these nonprofits continue their vital work in our community.

Friends of The Strand Inc.

Arts, Culture and Humanities

Help The Strand offer theater education programs at little to no cost for the Cobb community. A gift of $25 covers a student's acting lesson, $100 covers costume costs, and more generous gifts help ensure more students have access to arts education.
Theater arts education programs are costly. Students receive weeks-long training in acting, singing and dance, and then put on fully-produced shows with costumes, makeup, props, set pieces, theater lighting and live audio support. Programs in our region charge registration fees, costume fees and performance fees costing nearly $1,000 per student. At The Strand, we believe no financial barrier should prevent a student from accessing our programs. In 2024, 20 talented students brought Shrek the Musical Jr. to life with NO FEES, thanks to generous community support. Your gift will enable us to produce Anastasia: The Musical (Youth Edition) and to re-launch our weekly Strand Academy program in fall 2025 so we can serve more Cobb students.

Help the GSO provide specialized sensory-friendly concerts and mobile performances for veterans and seniors. Your donation will give over 500 individuals access to transformative musical experiences that improve mental health and foster inclusion. Live music reduces stress, improves mental health, and fosters social connections, but many in our community struggle to access these benefits because of physical and financial limitations. For over 70 years, the Georgia Symphony Orchestra has been breaking down barriers and making the power of live music accessible to everyone. Our Arts for All initiative provides tailored chamber concerts that bring the transformative power of music directly to veterans, senior citizens, and individuals on the autism spectrum. Through mobile outreach performances, sensory-friendly concerts, and free tickets to symphony events, the GSO will deliver the mental, emotional, and social benefits of live music to the people in our community who need it most.

Family Life Restoration Center, Inc.

Food and Nutrition

Help FLRC enhance the effectiveness of the services we provide. Your donations will cover operational costs, purchase food & help us to bridge the gap in homelessness. Your support is tangible to our operation.
Food insecurity has reached consequences beyond hunger, including poor physical/mental health, impaired cognitive development in kids and weakened economic productivity. Without tackling the root cause, families will continue to suffer, and the cycle of poverty and hunger will persist. With over 18 years of experience in changing lives, FLRC has been a cornerstone in South Cobb with a history of delivering real, measurable results. With your support, every dollar received will be directed towards effective solutions to restoring, educating and advancing those we serve. In 2023, we served over 9000 households, providing essential services & hope. Your trust allows us to continue transforming lives and building a stronger, more resilient community.

Food Security for America (FSA)

Food and Nutrition

Rising food costs impact us all, but you can help Food Security for America make a difference. $25 monthly provides fresh produce for one household, and $5,000 supports 24 households for a year. Your donation in any amount offers lasting empowerment.
At Food Security for America (FSA), we tackle food insecurity in Cobb County and across Georgia, where rising grocery costs make it difficult for seniors, single mothers, and families to access fresh, healthy food. In 2023, we distributed over 200,696 pounds of food, and the need continues. Mila, a Ukrainian refugee, shared: “Food is so pricey. My husband and I both work hard, but since joining FSA, I feel relief seeing our fridge full.” Beyond food, Mila found community in our member-led groups. Your donation helps us continue this work. Trusted for over a decade, FSA supports over 110 households in Cobb County, providing nutritious food, connections, and programs like healthy eating classes that foster long-term stability and well-being.

There is a profound emotional toll that caregiving exacts when caring for an aging loved one with physical and/or cognitive related challenges. This situation becomes more difficult when grandchildren are present in the household. Such stress can permeate the family dynamic, leading to unwelcome emotions like angst, anger, fear, and depression. We understand these challenges and have offered a lifeline of support to Cobb families for 15 years, serving 2500+ caregivers annually. With your support, we can expand our reach through an added caregiver support group, "A Day in the Life" hands-on simulation and "Tough Talks" workshop - focused on conversations around the inability to safely drive, cook, manage finances and/or technology devices.

Cumberland Counseling Centers

Health and Wellbeing

With a grant of $20,000, we could significantly expand community support. This funding would increase our monthly supplement by $1,660, allowing us to provide therapy for ~28 more clients throughout the year.
Only ~43% of those suffering from mental health issues receive the care they need. Barriers such as inadequate insurance, expensive fees, stigma and a shortage of culturally competent professionals often prevent access to essential mental health services. At CCC, we're dedicated to removing these barriers. We collaborate with community and faith groups to ensure that everyone can access quality mental health care, regardless of their financial situation. We offer sliding scale fees, reducing the cost from the typical $175/session, so financial hardship never stands in the way of someone’s well-being. Approximately 40% of our clients utilize this support to access care amounting to $77,000 in 2023 alone, removing money as a barrier to heal and grow.

NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity

Housing

Help provide a view to the future by providing the windows on new homes for six families in Cobb. Just $3,000 provides the windows for one home. Your donation ensures that more families will have a decent, affordable place to live.
In Cobb, one-third of families are renting, rather than owning homes, and the median income is not enough to qualify for a traditional loan to buy. When families are in the uncertain situation of renting, they can be evicted without notice, and are often paying over 50% of their income on housing, which makes their ability to afford necessities like healthcare, education, and transportation nearly impossible. For 38 years, Habitat for Humanity NWMA has served families in Cobb by building new construction homes for those making 30-80% of the Area Median Income, enabling them to become first-time homeowners and ending the cycle of renting. With your support in helping us raise $20,000, we can buy windows for the new homes of six families.

Donors can trust our experienced organization to uplift our community, one student like Jada at a time.
